Kent Cricket have announced the return of Australian seamer Wes Agar bolstering their ranks for the 2024 season.
Agar will return to the Club for its first 10 LV= Insurance County Championship matches in 2024, as well as the group stage of the Vitality Blast, subject to regulatory approval.
The right-armer took 21 wickets in Kent’s 2023 Championship campaign in six matches, including best figures of 5-63 against Northamptonshire in June.
The 26-year-old also took seven wickets in five Vitality Blast matches this past season, averaging 21.85. He took two catches in T20 competition, including an acrobatic one-handed effort to dismiss Kiran Carlson against Glamorgan.
He will be available for Kent across all formats until the end of July 2024.
On returning to Kent for a second overseas stint, Agar said: “I’m so stoked to be coming back to Kent again in 2024.
“I absolutely loved being a part of the squad in 2023, Kent Cricket is such a special Club and I’m really excited to be coming back for the new season.
“I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again and getting started with the lads in April.”
Kent’s Director of Cricket, Simon Cook, said: “We’re delighted to have Wes with us again for a big part of our season in 2024.
“He was a big addition to our squad this past season, contributing across two formats, as well as becoming a big part of the dressing room.
“We hope to see more big performances from Wes in a Kent shirt in 2024.”
