Charlton face AFC Wimbledon in their first competitive match at Kingsmeadow on Saturday.
Karl Robinson will welcome Josh Magennis back into the fold, though he is unsure if the the big Irishman is ready to start.
Robinson will be without suspended duo, Lewis Page and Nathan Byrne, but should have Jake Forster-Caskey (calf) and Adam Chicksen (illness) available. The pair had to be substituted in the match against Fleetwood last week.
If Robinson opts to start Magennis, he may use Tony Watt in the centre of the advanced midfield trio, with Ricky Holmes and Joe Aribo on the flanks.
The Addicks could look something like this:
Rudd; Solly, Bauer, Konsa, Chicksen; Crofts, Forster-Caskey, Holmes, Watt, Aribo; Magennis.
Subs: Phillips, Teixeira, Dasilva, Jackson, Botaka, Novak, Mavididi.
The referee will be Carl Boyeson from East Yorkshire.
Charlton face an intense period of 11 games in 35 days which will shape their season, and Robinson will be hopeful of making a good start.
He had this to say at his Thursday press conference:
”We have the strength of mind to cope with the busy run of games, it is what it is and we are all in the same boat.
“There will be times where I’ll have to say that we are fatigued and tired but I don’t want to have to use that as an excuse.
“We have a real good group of players here and we are looking forward to the challenge. Let’s not moan when we have a lot of games – it’s something to embrace and it will separate the boys from the men.
“Other than at Christmas, there is not a time like this in a season and, depending on how we fare in these next games, we could be right in it or completely out of it.
“The next few weeks will be vital for us in our campaign. I know that the away end is sold out on Saturday and I know that the game is also being beamed back to The Valley, so hopefully we can put in a good performance for everyone.”
