Gillingham will play AFC Wimbledon at Plough Lane in the opening round of the Carabao Cup.
The two sides will also meet on the opening day of the season in South-West London, meaning the teams will clash twice in the space of ten days.
The draw was made live on Sky Sports News on Thursday afternoon, a couple of hours after Brighton U21’s were confirmed as Gills third opponents in Group A in the Papa John’s Trophy southern section.
Gills reached the second round of the EFL Cup last season, being defeated by Cheltenham Town on penalties at ME7 having beaten Crawley by the same method in the opening round at the People’s Pension Stadium.
The tie is set to be played the week commencing August 8th. Fixture information, along with ticket details, will follow in due course.
