Charlton, Huddersfield, Tottenham and West Ham are reportedly chasing AFC Wimbledon central defender, Ryan McSweeney.
The Addicks are likely to be far more British orientated than previously in their recruitment this summer.
McSweeney celebrates his 19th birthday next month, and has made eleven starts plus a substitute appearance for Wimbledon since returning to the side in February.
He also played in the last three games of the 2014/15 season.
Charlton would probably be the club where McSweeney has the best chance of making a rapid breakthrough to the first team.
Former Addicks central defender, Christian Dailly, played in Mark Noble’s teatimonial game at Upton Park on Monday.
Now 42, Dailly still looked as lean and fit as he did in his playing days.
Dailly is studying for a sports science degree, as well as taking his coaching badges, and has been an athletics coach for some time.
The Dundee born defender joined Charlton in the summer of 2009, and was voted Player Of The Year by the fans at the end of the season.
In total, he made 78 starts plus a substitute appearance for the Addicks, scoring his only goal on his debut against Wycombe at The Valley.
Only five players have made more appearances for Scotland than Dailly, who was capped 67 times by his country.
Intelligent and articulate, the former skipper looks to have a career in management ahead of him.
