Travelling Addicks fans got their dream start to the new season when the Football League’s computer sent them to Bournemouth for the season’s opener.
Ironically, Charlton will end the season at another famous resort, Blackpool on 3 May. With the season being two weeks longer than the last campaign, there are fewer scheduled midweek fixtures. Nottingham Forest will be the only visitors to play a midweek league game at The Valley before Christmas, though the Addicks will have night games at Huddersfield and Reading in the same period.
Cup and weather disruptions aside, apart from the Bank Holiday fixtures, the Addicks will face Huddersfield and Yeovil at The Valley and only have to travel to Doncaster and Nottingham Forest for midweek games in the New Year.
Millwall will visit The Valley on 21 September, with the return game at the Den being staged on 15 March.
Charlton will visit Loftus Road on 23 November with Queens Park Rangers coming to The Valley on 22 February.
There will be the usual hectic end to the campaign, seven games are scheduled for March and a further six for April,a but this could increase if matches have to be postponed because of the FA Cup or bad weather in the early months of the New Year.
The season kicks-off on 3 August, little more thn six weeks away!
