The persitent rumours linking Swansea midfielder, Mark Gower, with a loan move to The Valley are still circulating.

Gower was thought to be close to a move to the Addicks during the summer and if a deal is to be done, it will need to happen soon.

Another player reportedly attracting renewed interest from Chris Powell is Bolton’s former Watford striker, Marvin Sordell. Sordell has been a perephiral figure at the Reebok for most of the season.

Local sources suggest that Dougie Freedman is in no rush to release Sordell but with Wanderers now being on the edge of the play-off zone, Freedman could be tempted to beef up his front line. If so, freeing up some of Sordell’s salary may be an appealing option.
