The Addicks swooped to sign Standard Liege midfielder, Yoni Buyens, on Saturday.
Buyens is 26-years-old, was born in Duffel in Belgium and has represented Belgium at junior level.
Buyens started his career at Lierse SK, where he made 88 appearances, scoring 4 goals. He move on to KV Mechelen where he scored twice in his 64 appearances.
The defensively minded midfielder then moved to his present club, Standard Liege, where he netted 12 times in his 93 appearances.
Internationally, he has played 8 times for the Belgian Under-19 team and twice at Under-21 level.
Buyens has joined Charlton on a season long loan and former Addicks loanee, Astrit Ajdarevic, had this to say about The Valley’s latest recruit:

Buyens is expected to be the first of several signings to be announced by the Addicks over the next few days.
