Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) has been shortlisted for the Johnstone’s Paint Community Club of the Year at the upcoming Football League awards.
Taking place this Sunday, April 17th in Manchester, the award recognises a Football League club community scheme that has best demonstrated success at engaging with their local community over the last year.
After being successful in 2009 for Football League Championship Community Club of the Year and 2013 for Football League Community Club of the Year, CACT CEO Jason Morgan is both delighted and thankful for the nomination.
“It’s great to have our work recognised and to be shortlisted for such a prestigious award”, he said.
“Huge credit and thanks must go to our staff, coaches and partners that support our work. Without their ongoing commitment to the cause, recognitions like this wouldn’t always be possible”.
Drew Barrand, Marketing Director of The Football League, said: “The Football League Awards 2016 provides a platform for us to showcase the very best of what The Football League is all about.
“Once again, the standard of entries has gone up so those clubs and individuals included on the shortlists deserve real praise for their achievements. We wish all those nominated the best of luck and look forward to announcing the winners in April at what will be the first ever Football League Awards evening to be held in Manchester.”
CACT have a strong presence in Kent, with an established Football Development Programme running Holiday courses, the award-winning Charlton Challenge, Elite Centres, Post 16 Academies, Futsal focus, After school and Saturday morning clubs amongst others.
