The Addicks will be without Jay Dasilva and Ahmed Kashi for the rest of the season.
Dasilva has been a virtual ever present this season. The 19-year-old has made 36 appearances, including 32 in League One.
The Chelsea loanee left The Valley wearing a protective boot on his right foot on Saturday, after picking up a knock against Shrewsbury. Karl Robinson admitted that the injury did not look great after the game.
Dasilva has arguably been Charlton’s best player this season. He is a firm fans favourite, and is a serious contender to pick-up the Player Of The Year award.
Long term injury victim, Lewis Page, is the obvious replacement for Dasilva. Significantly, Page was left out of Jason Euell’s Under-23 side that beat Coventry 2-0 at the Ricoh on Monday afternoon.
Kashi started the season in fine form after nearly two years on the sidelines.
The 29-year-old Algerian has made 33 appearances this season, including 31 in the league.
He has formed a good partnership with Jake Forster-Caskey as the deep lying midfield duo, and Kashi has recently added goals to his game.
Joe Aribo and Ezri Konsa are the most likely candidates to replace Kashi.
The loss of the duo is a big blow to Robinson as he seeks to secure a play-off spot.
Dasilva’s absence means the Addicks are unlikely to have enough players called up for international duty to request that the Plymouth game at The Valley on 24 March is postponed.
Charlton will probably have to face the Pilgrims without Ezri Konsa and Josh Magennis.
With bad weather forecast for this week, Saturday’s game with AFC Wimbledon at Kingsmeadow must be at risk.
The last thing Robinson needs right now is a fixture pile up.
