Charlton will be without groin injury victim, Jason Pearce, for Saturday’s game against Peterborough at The Valley, but Patrick Bauer will be available again after serving a one match suspension.
The Addicks will be without Ezri Konsa for the visit of Posh though, after the talented youngster picked up his fifth booking of the season at MK Dons on Tuesday.
Indeed, but for the swift action of Johnnie Jackson, Konsa could have been in even more trouble.
After being penalised for a challenge on George Baldock, Konsa kicked the ball away, and it struck the grounded Baldock.
Jackson reacted quickly to calm the situation, and Konsa escaped with a yellow.
All of Konsa’s bookings have come in the last eleven games, most of them borne out of frustration.
Konsa is a classy player, and there is speculation linking him with a move to a Premier League club in January, but the recent spate of bookings is something he needs to eliminate from his game.
Pearce is likely to be out for several weeks, and his absence will give Jorge Teixeira the chance to establish himself in the team again.
Jason Euell’s Under-23 side staged a late comeback to reach the semi-finals of the Kent Senior Cup at Margate on Wednesday.
Charlton trailed until the 82nd minute. Mikhail Kennedy levelled things up, and Karlan Ahearne-Grant struck the winner four minutes later.
Kennedy also scored in the Addicks’ 1-1 draw at Millwall on Monday.
