Charlton completed the signing of Nathan Byrne from Wigan on Monday. He will be on loan at The Valley for the rest of the season.
St Alban’s born Byrne is a right sided wing-back who started his career at Tottenham. He never made a first team appearance for the north Londoner’s, though he did have loan spells at
Brentford, Bournemouth, Crawley and Swindon during his time at White Hart Lane.
He joined Swindon on a permanent basis in 2013 and spent two years at the County Ground,
Before switching to Wolves in 2015.
He made 24 starts, plus a further 2 substitute appearances, during his season at Molineux.
Byrne joined Wigan during the summer and has made 14 starts for the Latics. Now 24-years-old, he should be approaching his prime.
