The Addicks have been drawn away to Nottingham Forest in the Third Round of the FA Youth Cup.Charlton Athletic

The game must be played before 21 December and it will take place at the City Ground.

Early arrivals for the Addicks game at Barnsley in August may have seen the Forest youngsters in action. The Barnsley academy games are played on a pitch adjacent to Oakwell and Forest scored seven that day, so it will be a tough task for Charlton.

Steve Avory and Paul Hart had the ideal opportunity to size up the opposition, Forest were due to play at Sparrows Lane on Saturday. Unfortunately, due to the pitch being waterlogged, the game been postponed.

Heavy rain is forecast in the area for Saturday morning, so anyone going to the Leeds game should check the club site regularly, in case the game becomes at risk of postponement.

Young keeper, Dillon Phillips, joined Skrill South outfit, Whitehawk, on loan until 7 December on Friday. The move will give Phillips the opportunity to play at first team level.

Two Addicks currently on loan – Michael Smith at AFC Wimbledon and Danny Hollands at Gillingham – were due to be involved in First Round FA Cup ties. While Smith started in Wimbledon’s match with Coventry, permission was withdrawn for Hollands to play for the Gills.

Simon Church and Rhoys Wiggins have been called up by Chris Coleman for Wales’ friendly with Finland at the Cardiff City Stadium next Friday.
