Charlton’s pre-season friendly with Swindon Town, due to be played at the County Ground on 30 July will not go ahead.

The Robins have released their pre-season schedule with no mention of Charlton on the list. Instead, Leeds will make the journey to Wiltshire on 29 July.

A Swindon spokesman said, “We never announced it as a friendly.”

That statement seems to make it clear that the Robins will not be playing on consecutive nights.

The Swindon match was arranged after the Addicks and Colchester called off their proposed match after the two sides were paired together in the first round of the Capital One Cup.

This has certainly not been the smoothest of pre-seasons for Charlton.
