Charlton will travel to Mansfield in the First Round of the FA Cup during the weekend of 10 November.
It will be the first time the two teams have clashed since the 1977/78 season. They played out a 2-2 draw at The Valley, with the Addicks recording a comprehensive 3-0 win at Field Mill in the return.
Charlton won the only other game between the sides, a 4-3 League Cup win in 1973.
Jamie Ward, whose sublime ball set up Karlan Grant for the first goal on Saturday, has told the South London Press that he would like to extend his stay at The Valley beyond January:
“I’d enjoy staying until the end of the season and hopefully longer, as long as everything is right for everyone.
“But the most important thing is trying to get this club promoted and helping them in the next few months. At the moment I’ve got until January but hopefully it can get extended and I can help until the end of the season.
“That’s not up to me, that’s in the club’s hands. All I can do is focus on trying to do well until January. Whatever happens then is totally down to the club.
“It’s just nice to be wanted again. It’s always hard if you’re not wanted at other clubs. It’s nice to have a manager who has a bit of faith in me and is willing to play me.
“Long may that continue. I’m happy, I’ve settled in really well. The only thing is I’ve not got my family with me. That’s the only hard bit as my big boy is at school.”
Ward also admitted that he can no longer play back-to-back games for 9o minutes.
Ward was replaced by Tariqe Fosu just after the hour mark on Saturday, and the roles may be reversed for the visit of Oxford on Tuesday evening.
Karlan Grant appeared to pick up a minor knock near the end of the Barnsley game, and Krystian Bielik had to be withdrawn after suffering cramp.
The Addicks worked tremendously hard on Saturday, and Bowyer will be hoping they have enough left in the tank to win this game.
It will be Karl Robinson’s first time back at The Valley since leaving in March, and the former boss will be extra keen to get one over on his former team.
Charlton may line-up like this:
Steer; Dijksteel, Bielik, Pearce, Solly; Cullen, Aribo, Reeves, Fosu; Taylor, Grant.
Subs: Phillips, Sarr, Pratley, Lapslie, Marshall, Ward, Ajose.
The referee will be Dean Whitestone from Northamptonshire.
It would be. A huge disappointment if the Addicks fail to build on Saturday’s fine performance.
