As expected, Charlton have announced that Andre Bikey has completed his move to the club.
Bikey has signed a two-year contract at The Valley. A vastly experienced defender, he will add presence to the back line.
The Addicks have moved swiftly to fill the void left when Swindon pulled out of the agreed friendly that was due to be played at the County Ground on 30 July.
Swindon cancelled the game when a match against Leeds was arranged for 29 July.
Charlton will now travel to London Road on 30 July to face Peterborough. The League One outfit will give the Addicks a good workout.
Rumoured Charlton target, Logan Bailly, is trialing at top-flight French side, Bastia. The 28-year-old keeper was previously at Hoffenheim and is a Belgian international.
The uneasy relationship between former Valley boss, Jose Riga, and new club Blackpool took a further set back on Wednesday when Sky reported that Riga is on the short list for the Deportivo La Coruna job.
Blackpool are desperately short of players and Riga is thought to be unhappy with the lack of arrivals at Bloomfield Road and could be tempted if he is offered the Deportivo position.
There are rumours from various West Ham sources, that a Hammers player will spend the season on loan at The Valley, as part of the agreed compensation package for Diego Poyet.
Mali striker, Modibo Maiga, finished last season on loan at Queens Park Rangers after failing to impress at Upton Park. He may, again, not figure in Sam Allardyce’s plans.
Another striker who could be surplus to requirements at the Boleyn is Ricardo Vaz Te. Vaz Te joined the Irons from Barnsley during their promotion season.
Bob Peeters likes to play with a strong front man and both Maiga and Vaz Te would fit the bill.
There are also rumours circulating that the Addicks are closing in on Icelandic winger, Johann Berg Gudmundsson. Gudmundsson’s contract at Dutch Eredivisie side, AZ, has expired.
The 23-year-old is a potent threat and would be an exciting capture for Charlton
