In some ways, the unallocated numbers were the most significant part of the list. The iconic 9 and 10 shirts, as well as the popular number 12, have yet to be allocated.
Danny Haynes, Bradley Wright-Phillips and Salim Kerkar had those numbers last year. It is ironic that on the day the numbers were announced, Wright-Phillips agreed a deal with New York Red Bulls.
Dorian Dervite has taken over from Matt Taylor at number 6 and Scott Wagstaff’s number 11 has gone to Callum Harriott.
Probably the most baffling change was Danny Hollands move from 22 to 19.
All fans will be hoping that before that the number 9 and 10 shirts are filled before the opening fixture at Bournemouth.
