Rumours are suggesting that Reza Ghoochannejhad has signed for Al Kuwait and is with the club at their training camp in Cairo.
Ghoochannejhad was belatedly given the number 8 shirt when the squad numbers were released on Sunday, but was not present at the Fun Day.
His departure seems little more than a formality and, probably, the club’s financial strategy for bringing more recruits in, is partly dependent on receiving a fee for Ghoochannejhad.
Whether he has completed a move to Kuwait though, remains to be seen.
The Andy Delort deal is still not complete. Some sources are reporting that the move will be announced on Wednesday, while others suggest that Charlton’s offer is considerably less than what Tours will accept. Again, the situation should soon become clear.
A Charlton XI, containing a number of trialists, secured a 3-2 win at Billericay on Tuesday evening.
A Terrell Thomas error allowed Glenn Poole to give the hosts an early lead. Tobi Sho-Silva levelled for the Addicks midway through the first period, but Ricky Sappleton restored Billericay’s lead from the penalty spot before the interval.
Charlton gained the upper hand in the second half and goals from skipper, Harry Osborne, and substitute, Joshua Umerah, sealed the win.
