Margate Football Club showed that team spirit extends to more than on the pitch when they raised a significant sum for charity.

The Margate squad took part in the Movemeber fund raising initiative to help raise awareness of men’s health issues, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers .

Through individual sponsorship for growing moustaches during the month of November, the lads have raised over £1,000, plus £170 was raised through the bucket collections made at the Wingate & Finchley and Ramsgate matches staged at Hartsdown Park during the month.

Co-ordinating the fund raising effort, Dean Hill said: “The guys would like to thank everybody who contributed to this very worthwhile cause.”
