It was a day of mixed fortunes for Kent’s clubs with Dover Atheltic, Bromley and Welling United all pulling off fine victories away from home.
Marcus Law’s Tamworth edged closer towards the play-off places with a 3-2 triumph over 10-man Dartford in the Blue Square Bet Premier league.
Semi Ajayi drew first blood for the Darts in the 16th minute before team-mate Tom Bonner saw red on 55 minutes for a deliberate handball in the area.
Scott Barrow converted the resulting spot kick, but the visitors reclaimed the lead on 70 minutes when Danny Harris fired into the bottom-right corner from just inside the area.
But they were always going to struggle with a man down, and Scott Barrow popped up again in the 85th minute to level the scores before Lee Hendrie netted the winning goal on 88 minutes, Adrian Moke providing the all-important assist.
A 42nd-minute goal from Ebbsfleet’s Matt Godden canceled out Marcus Marshall’s third-minute opener for Grimsby Town at Stonebridge Road on Saturday.
In the Blue Square Bet South league, Dover Athletic climbed to third in the standings as they saw off Billericay Town 2-1 at New Lodge.
Billy Bricknell (12, 80) gave the Whites a healthy 2-0 lead going into the final few minutes, rendering a late strike from Rob Swaine (87) inconsequential as the visitors held out for the win.
Welling United ensured they remain in touch at the top as they came from behind to secure a 3-1 win over Eastleigh at Silverlake Stadium.
Craig McAllister (9) put the Spitfires into the lead early on, but Scott Kinch (56) levelled matters shortly after the restart, while Anthony Acheampong (67) and Hughes Mason (78) each fired home to complete the turn-around and secure the three points.
A brace from Joe Pigott (10, 67) earned Bromley all three points as they held off Havant & Waterlooville to take home a 2-1 victory at West Leigh Park.
Pigott had fired home for the Ravens either side of Oliver Palmer’s 23rd minute equaliser as the visitors held out for the victory which took them one point clear of the relegation zone.
Truro City earned an invaluable 2-0 victory over Tonbridge Angels at Treyew Road, with Marcus Martin (pen 46) and Kieffer Moore (88) earning the goals.
