Jamie Bond is loving his time racing in the final season of the Renault UK Clio Cup and the ultra-competitive racing.

The 2018 Volkswagen Racing Cup champion joined the final season with Team Hard late but he is certainly showing he belongs in the series.

Speaking about the series, he said: “I’m loving my time in the Clio’s, the racing is hard but fair at the same time and the championship organisers and owners are very helpful and professional which makes it more enjoyable at circuits.”

We asked Jamie whether the racing in the Clip Cup is massively different to that of the VW Cup that he is used to.

He added: “It’s massively different the Clio’s are very hard to drive but also very rewarding I’m slowly getting to grips with the car and the setup.”

Bond has shown he belongs on the British Touring Car Support package since joining the series with some impressive race results including two seconds and two third place finishes.

“I was over the moon I think the highlight for me was getting my first pole position it’s so close in the Clio’s which makes the series even more interesting

“I couldn’t have asked for better really I and Team Hard are learning something different each lap we do so to have those results so quickly is a testament to them as a team.

In the second half of the season Jamie is looking to convert those podium finishes into race victories.

He said: “100% I want that winning feeling back we was close at Oulton Park and it’s made me want it more I’m hoping we can try and battle for overall championship honours come the latter part of the year but it’s not going to be an easy task that’s for sure.”
