Team Shredded Wheat Racing with DUO heads North to Cheshire’s picturesque Oulton Park circuit this coming weekend as the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship reconvenes for rounds 10, 11 and 12.
The Motorbase-run squad is looking for a return to form for its trio of Ford Focus STs on the challenging 2.23 mile circuit and hopes are high for a set of solid results heading into the weekend, after Mat Jackson collected a double score of points at Thruxton earlier this month.
Oly Collins, Team Shredded Wheat Racing with DUO Team Manager said; “Oulton Park is an outstanding venue, and one that throws up a number of different challenges for our drivers and engineers.
“The entire Motorbase crew have worked extremely hard during the short two week turnaround to ensure that the two cars that unfortunately suffered significant damage at Thruxton are ready to go this weekend.
“We’ve also made some further improvements in readiness for Oulton Park and we’ll keep pushing to ensure that we’re at the top of our game;” Collins added. “The BTCC is arguably the most competitive it’s ever been this year and by its very nature is never stands still – which means we can’t afford to either!”
Oulton Park’s triple-header marks the fourth meeting of the ten Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship events and the BTCC grid’s first Northern visit on the calendar.
Rounds 10, 11 and 12 of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship will be broadcast live and in high-definition on ITV4 and via the ITVhub on Sunday 21st May from 11.15 – 18.00. Live timing of Saturday’s (May 20th) qualifying session is also available at btcc.net/live and at between 15.50 – 16.20, along with two free practice sessions scheduled for 10.00 – 10.40 and 12.45 – 13.25.
Mat Jackson #3:
“Oulton is a great circuit and one of my all-time favourites. We’ve had some good results there in the past and hopefully this weekend will be the turning point in our season.”
“The car is in the window, we just need an incident free weekend to bank some much needed points and get our championship back on track.”
Luke Davenport #300:
“We need to keep moving forward this weekend. I know that it’s a tough rookie season to come into the championship but hopefully people are now starting to see flashes of my competitiveness.
“I love Oulton Park. I took my first win, first lap record and first pole there. My aim is to hit the points finishes this weekend, all my focus is going to be on trying to run closer to the front and to show people what I can do.”
Martin Depper #30:
“I’m hoping that we can come out of the box where we want to start in FP1 this weekend and fine tune the car to work well from there. I don’t think we’re far away, we just need to break the run of bad luck that we’ve had so far.”
